Rajesh Relan

Rajesh Relan is an Operating Partner at Pentara Capital. He is a seasoned financial services executive with more than three decades of experience across insurance, private equity, and entrepreneurship. He brings deep expertise in strategy, governance, and regulated markets, with a career spanning leadership roles at global insurers and advisory to growth-stage ventures. Rajesh served as Managing Director of PNB MetLife India Insurance and held senior positions at AVIVA and Old Mutual Plc. His experience includes scaling businesses in highly regulated environments and driving operational transformation across diverse markets in India and Asia Pacific.

In private equity, Rajesh was an Operating Partner at Sabre Partners, where he focused on value creation across portfolio companies. More recently, he has acquired, invested in, and successfully exited multiple ventures, including several in the InsurTech space, combining hands-on operational expertise with strategic capital deployment.

He currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Singer India Ltd. and Jaykay Enterprises Ltd., alongside board positions in education, sustainability, and insurance companies. Rajesh holds degrees from NMIMS and Delhi University and has completed executive leadership programs at INSEAD, London Business School, Wharton, and Harvard.
