Dat Han is an investor and operator whose career spans venture capital, high-growth technology companies and management consulting across Southeast Asia and India. He has raised capital from venture investors as an operator and deployed it as an investor and brings that two-sided perspective to how Pentara works with founders and owners.
Most recently, Dat was an investor with the Southeast Asia team at Lightspeed Venture Partners, one of the largest global venture firms, where he focused on consumer and fintech businesses and supported the build-out of the firm's platform in the region. Before Lightspeed, he was part of the original investment team at Altara Ventures, joining ahead of the close of its first fund and helping establish the firm's sourcing and diligence approach.
On the operating side, Dat was Chief of Staff and part of the senior management team at CoHive, an Indonesian proptech company, where he was involved in scaling the business across the country and building new business verticals. The experience of running growth and new products inside a fast-scaling business informs how he works with portfolio company management teams.
Dat began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he spent several years on real estate and private equity engagements, including commercial diligence and performance improvement work for investors and corporates.
Dat holds a degree from Imperial College London and is based in Singapore.
