Manos Hatzakis is a financial strategist and risk expert with a cross-sector career spanning finance, transportation, energy, and higher education. He currently serves as Industry Professor and Director of the Finance and Financial Engineering programs at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he led a major rise in national rankings and a 137% increase in enrollment. He also oversees a student-run investment fund managing a portion of the university’s endowment.

Previously, Manos held senior roles at Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, UBS, and Goldman Sachs, where he advised on investment strategy, equity portfolio management, and operational risk. He was a voting member of key investment committees and developed award-winning risk systems. Today, he advises leadership teams at Costco Wholesale, Goldman Sachs, and Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City on strategic risk and brand reputation.

A thought leader in global financial policy, Manos played a pivotal role in Greece’s 2012 sovereign debt restructuring, helping reduce its debt by €106 billion and stabilise the Eurozone. He holds a Ph.D. from the Wharton School, is a CFA® charterholder and Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and has published extensively on finance and risk strategy.
